The North End Jewish Folk Choir will begin its 20th year together on Thursday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ukrainian Labour Temple, 591 Pritchard Avenue at McGregor Street.

Everyone is welcome to join us. No talent or expertise in singing, music or knowledge of languages is required - just a love of singing. We sing in Yiddish, Hebrew, German, Ladino, French and English. All lyrics are transliterated, so we can all read them.

This year we are welcoming Kaiti Rieder as our conductor. We're planning a joint performance with the Festival Choir on the afternoon of Sunday, November 29 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of bass-baritone civil rights activist Paul Robeson. Our repertoire will include protests songs, labour songs, songs of struggle and songs of joy. We're lining up other performers to round out this special event.

The choir will perform at the Millennium Library, 251 Donald St. on Saturday, December 5 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Our second term, beginning in January 2027, will be directed toward a performance to honour the fighters of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
